Trade Policy

The American Pizza Community supports a modern and fair trade policy that creates a stable and predictable commodity market and benefits American consumers, workers, businesses and the overall economy.

Tariffs impact more than just the American steel industry.  Costly consequences disrupt a wide array of businesses and downstream supply chains – machinery, equipment, construction, and food products – including decisions to stall business growth. Pizza ovens, refrigeration and countertops are the most expensive equipment in a pizza restaurant.

Tariffs also financially hurt farmers. Retaliatory tariffs by Mexico and China are hurting dairy farmers financially struggling with low milk prices fueled by overproduction and failed export markets. Cheese is now the most expensive ingredient on a pizza.
